Brückentage Master | Ai Vacation Planning Tool

Brückentage Master

Overview

Brückentage Master is a digital planner designed to help users in Germany optimise their annual leave by visualising and calculating the most effective use of Brückentage, vacation days that fall between public holidays and weekends. The product enables longer breaks while using fewer leave days. I led the UX and UI design and product strategy, focusing on transforming complex calendar and holiday data into clear and actionable insights for users planning time off.

The Challenge

Planning vacation days around public holidays in Germany is more complex than it appears. Users often struggle to identify which bridge days are worth taking, how many vacation days they actually need, and which combinations deliver the longest breaks. The challenge was to transform dense calendar data and holiday rules into a simple, intuitive experience that helps users quickly make confident decisions about their time off.

Final Thoughts

Building Brückentage Master allowed me to take full ownership of the user experience from problem definition to execution. The project reinforced the importance of structuring information in a way that supports real decision-making, not just presentation. By focusing on clarity, prioritisation, and reduced cognitive load, I was able to turn a complex planning task into an experience that feels purposeful, intuitive, and genuinely useful in everyday life.
